The origin of our fire

Time. Distance. Patience.

A contemporary tribute · not a literal reproduction

Long before modern grills and high-tech smokers, cooking in the far south meant reading the wind, tending the embers and respecting time.

Our kitchen acknowledges the knowledge developed in Tierra del Fuego and Patagonia by the Selk’nam and Yagán peoples. Selk’nam life was closely connected to hunting guanaco; Yagán foodways grew from the sea, shellfish, fish and the other resources of the archipelago.

At Speechless we reinterpret that relationship through suspended cooking: each ingredient moves closer to or farther from the flame, working with radiant heat, clean smoke and rest.

02

Smoke

03

Time

Transforms patiently, never in a rush.
